2018 plans and preparations are occurring at a fast and furious pace across the country. Planting will begin in southern Texas and southern Florida as early as next week. Millions of gallons of nitrogen are being secured for pre- planting, top dressing, deep placement, and side dressing. At the same time, our agronomy phones have been ringing in recent weeks seeking advice on preserving or increasing potassium levels as more and more producers are seeing low K levels, potassium deficiencies, and below expected crop performance issues.
Adding potassium to nitrogen has always been an issue…until now.
If you want/need to improve your K levels and employ the convenience of applying it with your liquid UAN, there are options that will yield results. If you have been tracking or following NACHURS the last several years, we have talked a lot about Bio-K and the improved results of incorporating Bio-K into your liquid nutrient management program. Especially with 10-34-0, 11-37-0 and now UAN.
NACHURS line of Bio-K blends and products range from full NPK starters, foliar blends, and deep placement products to partnering with UAN and poly based material.
NACHURS flagship Bio-K product is NACHURS K-fuel. This 0-0-24 potassium acetate form of potassium has many applications. It has proven over the past 5 – 6 years to be best source of K to translocate into the plant and provide much needed K when and where it’s needed, especially late in season during flowering when K levels fall out or all that is available has been used up by the plant. That is the worse time for a plant to run out of potassium. Potassium is in its greatest demand during flowering in most crops.
The newest member of the NACHURS Bio-K family is NACHURS K-fuse. NACHURS K-fuse is a 6-0-12-12S Bio-K product made for use with UAN and even poly material. It will remain in solution and provide an excellent source of potassium when blended with UAN32 at ratios as low as 4:1. That’s 4 gallons UAN32 to 1 gallon NACHURS K-fuse.
If you want to do it right, include NACHURS K-fuse when you topdress your winter wheat, oats, etc. If you want to do it right, include NACHURS K-fuse when you sidedress corn or other crops with UAN. If you want to do it right, include NACHURS K-fuse with your 2x2 systems when using 10-34-0 or 11-37-0.
Don’t overlook an economically feasible and profitable opportunity to boost your nitrogen applications by excluding a form of potassium in NACHURS K-fuse that will enhance production, plant health, plant growth, and root development. Don’t overlook the opportunity to turn your 2x2 poly application into a true NPK. Get in touch with one of us. We can truly help make your nutrient management program better!
