After the Seeds of Spring Have Spoken.

In early September I had the privilege of vacationing in Ireland, taking time for a reprieve from research and development plots. This opportunity to refresh and regenerate was accompanied with a time of reflection, witnessing different styles and environments of agricultural practices while enjoying breath taking views of nature. It was during this trip that I heard a song, “Follow the Heron”, that inspired the title for this blog.

Although September has come and gone, I know that the opportunity to attend so many different agricultural shows and learning events have presented us with new ideas and processes that we can begin to incorporate into our 2024 cropping plans. As we continue to ground truth our own crops, along with discussions with our peers, it is the harvest that we are involved in that truly allows us to better understand our achievements from 2023. From the time we planted our seeds, through to our fall harvest, the lessons we have learned are a guide to greater success.

With October upon us, and harvest drawing to completion across the west, we continue to gain momentum here in the east. Wrapping up our hay crops, literally, and fertilizing for winter hardiness, while bunkering up corn sileage for a winter of livestock feed. Digging potatoes, pulling dry beans as combines swallow up the soybean and corn fields, providing us with hands on opportunities to gather the results from our spring plantings. As we take inventory of our crops, we will now focus on where our gains and loses developed from. This insight will be very beneficial to our seed choices, as well as our crop protection and fertility practices.

With ALPINE celebrating 50 years of business on October 11th, we have had the opportunity to support and service so many of you with your Canadian Agribusinesses. Starting as an in-furrow phosphorous company, we have established the ALPINE Kit delivery system, along with our quality line of chelated micronutrients. By leading the way with our orthophosphate lines, we have now expanded into the potassium space, leading with our ALPINE Bio-K®, potassium acetate line.

As I referred to the title, “After the Seeds of Spring have Spoken,” we at Nachurs Alpine Solutions are looking forward to taking our 50 years of experience and assist each of you with expanding your horizons for your 2024 cropping plan. Over the next few months, as you take your past experiences, and utilize them to enhance your future success, please connect with our DSM and Dealer network, to see how ALPINE’s Maximizing Fertilizer Efficiency can improve your farming operation.

Have a safe and prosperous fall as we all continue to learn and grow together!!
